NBA MVP Ladder Week 20: Youngsters climbing the ranks

The race for the NBA MVP award has never been closer, as there are realistically seven or eight different players who could take home the award this season.

Last week’s ladder featured the league’s three best big men battling it out for first place, but over the course of the past seven days, other players have begun to make some noise as well.

And at the same time, some players’ cases to win the award are slowly beginning to decline as their teams begin to struggle. As much as the award is about individual play, team success matters, too.

So as week 20 in the NBA gets underway, which player sits atop the NBA MVP Ladder, and who is right behind him in the hunt for the league’s highest individual honor?
