Three things Arkansas must do to beat Kentucky

Three things Arkansas must do to beat Kentucky

A consistent theme in the Razorbacks’ close road losses this season has been foul trouble. Whether it’s being over-aggressive on the defensive end or getting the short end of crucial calls, Arkansas has struggled with foul trouble away from Bud Walton Arena.

Since conference play has started, Arkansas averages 22 fouls per game on the road. They average just 17 fouls per game when they’re at home. In their 67-64 loss to Baylor three games ago Jordan Walsh and Makhi Mitchell both fouled out while Jalen Graham and Makhel Mitchell each had to play with four fouls at the end. In the 79-76 loss to Missouri three weeks ago, the Razorbacks had four players foul out – Jordan Walsh, Devo Davis, Makhi Mitchell and Kamani Johnson.

The bottom line is that Arkansas can’t afford to lose players down the stretch of a close road game. Hopefully tonight’s game isn’t called tightly, but if that’s the case then the Razorbacks will need to be smart on defense or we’ll see a repeat of the Missouri and Baylor games.
