Starting Five: Wisconsin travels to face Illinois State

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin (3-1, 0-0 B1G) is coming off of a record breaking 103-49 performance versus Bradley (0-2, 0-0 MVC), and will look to carry its momentum as the Badgers travel to play Illinois State on Sunday, Nov. 20. Tip time is 2:00 p.m. from CEFCU Arena and the game can be streamed live on ESPN+ or listened to on WIBA.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers play the Redbirds:

1. REVENGE GAME: After dropping a tough loss to Bradley last season, Wisconsin was determined to not experience another round of defeat. The Badgers arrived on the court with a sense of intensity, and pushed the pace early on against the Braves. UW sank four quick threes in the first five minutes of the game, and from then on, there was no stopping Bucky. Wisconsin never once showed signs of letting up against Bradley, and continued to battle them until the clock struck zero. Wisconsin broke the single-game school record in field goal percentage (63.9) and tied the single-game records in 3-point (14) and assist (34) records.

2. NOTCHING 100: For the first time in almost seven years, the Badgers scored 100 points. The last time they entered triple-digit scoring was Dec. 18, 2016 when they played against Mississippi Valley State. This performance is tied for eighth all-time in program points and the record seemed inevitable after the 60-24 halftime lead. The thirty points they scored in each of the first two quarters was tied for fourth all time in most points in a quarter for Wisconsin, and landed fifth all time for their most points in a half. 

3. TYING RECORDS: UW tied two more school records against the Braves, including the for the most three-point field goals with 14 and the most assists with 34. Julie Pospisilva led the Badgers with four threes, and Krystyna Ellew and Maty Wilke each added three more. They made their most threes in the first quarter when they went 6-for-11, and their lowest three-point shooting percentage in a quarter was 54.6 percent. As for assists, Avery LaBarbera was able to add nine while Halle Douglass contributed eight. Douglass leads the badgers in assists with an average of 4.5 per game. 

4. BENCH CONTRIBUTIONS: All available players on UW earned the opportunity to compete against Bradley, and they were able to continue the great performance the starters had supplied. 33 of Wisconsin’s…
