ROME, Ga.  The USA South Athletic Conference on Thursday morning released its women’s basketball coaches preseason poll, listing Methodist fourth in the ten-team league.

The Monarchs garnered 54 points in the voting, six points behind third-place North Carolina Wesleyan University (60 pts.).

Greensboro College, the defending regular season Co-USA South East Division champions, sits atop the poll after collecting 79 points and seven first-place votes (coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team). Coming just four points behind the Pride is Southern Virginia University, the other co-regular season champs and the 2022 USA South Tournament champions, with 74 points and final three first place tallies.

Methodist enters the 2022-23 campaign with a majority of returners from a year ago, including the 2021-22 USA South Rookie of the Year award winner Kiley Hicks, while adding four newcomers. The Monarchs begin their season on the road at the Agnes Scott Tip-Off Classic on November 11 and 12.
