In a rare moment of unity, New Yorkers from multiple boroughs came together Sunday to jeer a common opponent.

Though if you were at the Garden, you might not have noticed the city’s annoyance with James Harden. The Knicks’ home was invaded from the south, Amtraks bringing 76ers fans in droves to cheer on their new superstar in his second game with the team.

There were chants of “MVP” while he was at the free-throw line – and this being James Harden, he was at line often. What became another frustrating loss for the Knicks, 125-109, doubled as a reminder that the Nets dealt away a superstar unique in his ability to repel anyone who is not a fan of the team he plays for.
