COLLEGE PARK, MD —  The No. 8-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team (16-2, 6-1 B1G) will play at No. 12 Ohio State (17-1, 6-1) Thursday, Jan. 23 in Columbus, Ohio. The Terps and the Buckeyes will tip off at 6 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.

What’s UP

  • Shyanne Sellers was named Big Ten Player of the Week Monday for her fourth career weekly honor. She scored a season-high 27 points with 9 boards and 7 assists in the Terps’ win over No. 24 Minnesota.
  • Maryland is in a stretch of six of seven games against teams ranked in the AP Top 25. No other team in the country has a similar stretch. 

  • Kaylene Smikle has scored in double figures in 17 straight games.

  • Sellers is currently No. 18 on Maryland’s all-time scoring list with 1,486 career points. She needs 27 points to pass Deedee Warley (1,512) at No. 17. Sellers’ 481 career assists are No. 7 in the Maryland career record book. She needs 6 to pass Anjale Barrett at No. 6 (486) and 8 to pass Alyssa Thomas at No. 5 (488).
