Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton put together another solid season in 2023-24 for a Brooklyn team that has needed him to be the anchor of the defense and the finisher on the offensive end. Claxton came into this season with opponents being familiar with his game and knowing that he will be a main part of whatever the Nets were trying to do on the floor.
Claxton, 25, entered the season with the feeling that he should have been receiving more love from NBA voters regarding his play on the court, especially when it came to the Defensive Player of the Year award. While plenty of people were pointing out that Claxton seemed to lose favor in the general public because of the decline of the franchise, not due to his play.
To his credit, Claxton has continued to keep working on his game and his body so that he could be prepared to make his usual impact and maybe so if needed.
