Europe's Basketball Arenas Gear Up for IWBF Europe's EuroCup Finals Weekend Showdowns - IWBF

The IWBF Europe’s EuroCup Finals start this weekend (Friday 26 April – Sunday 28 April) and are set to captivate wheelchair basketball enthusiasts across Europe.

This year, the EuroCup Finals will be spread across three locations, the Finals of EuroCup 1 and 2 will unfold in Italy’s Giulianova and Sassari, respectively. Meanwhile, the EuroCup 3 Final will be hosted in Valladolid, Spain.

In EuroCup 1 Finals, hosts Deco Metalferro Amicacci Abruzzo will welcome a formidable lineup of contenders, including fellow Italians Santo Stefano KOS Group, Spain’s BSR ACE Gran Canaria, and Bidaideak Bilbao BSR. Joining them are Germany’s Koln 99ers and Rhine River Rhinos Wiesbaden, Austria’s Interwetten Sittings Bulls, and Turkey’s Fenerbache Gokel Celik.

Over in EuroCup 2 Finals, the stage is set in Sardinia, Italy, where Dinamo Lab Banco Di Sardegna will play host to a competitive field including Italian League winners MIA Briantea84 Cantu, four teams from France – Hyeres Handi Basket, CTH de Lannion, Hornets Le Cannet, and Les Aigles Du Velay. Also in the mix are Germany’s Hannover United and Austria’s 8TF FlinkStones Graz.

Meanwhile, EuroCup 3’s final showdown will take place in Fundacion Aliados (BSR Valladolid) in Spain. The host team will take on tough competition from Spain’s CD Murcia BSR and Iberconsa AMFIV, as well as three Turkish clubs – TSK Rehab Merkezi Engeliller Spor Kulubu, Izmir BSB, and Gazisehir Gaziantep Sport Club. Italian representatives P.D.M. Treviso will also be vying for glory in this category.

Adding to the excitement, one EuroCup 2025 Qualification Tournament is set to unfold in Spain. Club Amivel will host Portuguese team APD Braga BCR, two Italian teams D Junior Team Sassari and Asinara Basketball, and English teams Mohawks, all competing for a coveted spot in next year’s main competition.

To culminate the 2024 competition, the highly anticipated Champions Cup Final 4 will be held in Albacete, Spain, on 3rd and 4th May 2024. As the pinnacle of EuroCup wheelchair basketball, this event promises to deliver unforgettable moments and determine the ultimate champions of the season.
