UNC basketball recruiting target to visit Arkansas

The North Carolina Tar Heels are in pursuit of one of the top players in the transfer portal with interest in former Tennessee center Jonas Aidoo.

Aidoo is a native of North Carolina and entered the transfer portal a few weeks back, gaining interest from several programs. That included the Tar Heels who are hoping to fill the center role.

The center has shown interest in the Tar Heels, as they are one of a few teams he’s currently focusing on. Aidoo has narrowed his list to UNC, Baylor, Alabama and Arkansas. While there hasn’t been a visit set at the moment but Aidoo is starting to take some visits and the latest is to a program in the SEC.

Aidoo is set to visit Coach John Calipari and Arkansas over the weekend:

Calipari is rebuilding Arkansas’ roster after taking over, leaving Kentucky this offseason. Landing a player like Aidoo would be a huge get for him in his first year with Arkansas.

But it would also be a big get for Hubert Davis and his staff, as they have a need at the position.

This recruitment is still open and despite Baylor getting an early crystal ball, things could change in a hurry for any of the programs still involved.
