It’s a great day to be a Tar Heel, as UNC’s defensive juggernaut Seth Trimble has decided to return for his junior year, sending social media into a frenzy.
After weeks in the transfer portal, Trimble took to Instagram to announce his decision to run it back. In the graphic posted, Trimble explained his thoughts that ultimately led to his return.
“I’ve taken time to realize where my home is. After much consideration, I’ve decided my heart and soul belong in Chapel Hill.”
The portal hasn’t been friendly to UNC with talent leaving, so this is a nice change of pace for the program, but the decision has already caused more uncertainty. One with fans speculating that Trimbles return with Harrison Ingram’s decision to declare for the NBA draft could mean RJ Davis’s decision to leave is almost a certainty.
Meanwhile, others are hopeful this only means Davis will have a reason to return for his last year of eligibility. Undoubtedly, the decision will have a significant impact on UNC, however instead of worrying about what’s next for Davis we celebrate Trimble’s return.
