Former Sooners guard Milos Uzan commits to Houston Cougars

The Oklahoma Sooners have some work to do in the transfer portal this offseason to retool for the 2024-2025 season. In addition to the losses of Rivaldo Soares and Le’Tre Darthard to eligibility, Oklahoma lost key players to the transfer portal.

Milos Uzan, Otega Oweh, John Hugley and Javian McCollum are looking for new opportunities in the portal and one of their starting guards has found a new home. Uzan committed to one of the best programs in the country on Saturday evening, the Houston Cougars.

Uzan started at point guard for the Sooners but experienced a bit of a regression as a shooter. He saw big drops in field goal percentage, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage this season despite the Sooners improved year. He showed promise in several games, but as teams worked to take away Uzan’s ability to drive to the basket, he looked limited as a perimeter shooter.

He showed a lot of promise as a freshman, shooting 47% from the field and 40% from three. If Houston can help him rediscover his shooting stroke, he’ll be a key piece for a team that has national title aspirations.

To replace Uzan, the Sooners are hoping to land Virginia Tech transfer guard Sean Pedula. Porter Moser and his staff hosted Pedula and Oklahoma State big man Brandon Garrison this weekend.
