The big milestone LeBron James’ new podcast has quickly reached

LeBron James has branched out into many areas outside of basketball in recent years. Among other things, he has acted in movies, done many business deals and helped people advance their careers by giving them jobs.

More recently, he started his own podcast, “Mind the Game,” which he hosts with former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick. Unlike some other basketball podcasts, this one, as James had noted, is meant for true fans and basketball junkies rather than casual fans.

The first episode of “Mind the Game” dropped less than a month ago, yet it has already surpassed 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. James promoted the milestone on X, formerly known as Twitter (h/t The Cold Wire).

There are seemingly a zillion sports podcasts out there, and getting involved in that space is very much what business theorists W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne once referred to as a “red ocean strategy” in a bestselling 2004 book they co-authored.

Granted, anything with James’ name is going to automatically be an industrial-strength magnet for attention and customers. On the other hand, given how polarizing he is, getting past 100,000 subscribers still isn’t easy.
