NBA Twitter reacts to Tari Eason’s shirt in Warriors’ win vs. Rockets

The Houston Rockets have been putting pressure on the Golden State Warriors for the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference and the final spot in the postseason play-in tournament.

With the race for the No. 10 seed heating up, Rockets forward Tari Eason took to social media to taunt the Warriors last week, quoting the 1979 film “The Warriors,” saying the famous line from the movie “Warriors, come out to play.”

On Thursday, when the two teams met in Houston, Eason doubled down. Eason, who wasn’t playing in the game after undergoing season-ending surgery, wore a T-shirt on the sideline that read “Warriors, come out to play.”

It didn’t take long for things to backfire for Eason and the Rockets. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson each tallied 29 points in the Warrior’s wire-to-wire blowout win over the Rockets, 133-110.

With their win on Thursday, the Warriors took a four-game lead over the Rockets in the standings with only six games to play in the regular season, essentially closing the door on Houston’s chances at the play-in tournament.

As Thursday’s game progressed, Eason and his attempted trolling of the Warriors became a topic of conversation on Twitter and at the game in Houston. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Twitter about Eason and the Warriors on Thursday night.
