The Sweet 16 matchup between the West Region’s No. 1 seed North Carolina and No. 4 seed Alabama was a highly-anticipated one. Featuring two talented, high-scoring programs, it was expected to be a classic. Through the first 20 minutes, it has not disappointed.
At the half, the Tar Heels lead the Crimson Tide 54-46, but there have been multiple lead changes and a few impressive comebacks from both teams.
The three has been lethal on both ends of the court, as Cormac Ryan and Rylen Griffen have combined for eight total three-pointers on nine attempts. In the second half, expect the ball to be spread around more, but that does not mean there will be fewer threes shot. It has proven to be the deciding factor in who will advance to the Elite Eight.
