  1. The Aggies have dominated the boards all season

There is no better team in college basketball than Texas A&M when it comes to getting rebounds. This season, the Aggies averaged 42.7 rebounds per game, including 17.3 offensive rebounds pre-game, which also ranks first in the country. The magic number for rebounds for the Aggies this season appears to be 41. When recording 41 or more rebounds, Texas A&M was 14-4.

The Aggie’s top talent entering the NCAA Tournament is guard Wade Taylor, who is averaging 18.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per contest this season. However, this season, when Taylor scores 20 or more points, Texas A&M is just 6-6, including losing his three best performances of the season against Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, and Houston.

  1.  No. 9 Seeds have a slight advantage all-time over the No. 8 seeds

All-time, the No. 9 seeds have a slight advantage over No. 8 seeds in the NCAA Tournament with a 78-74 record. Last season, the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds split their four games. Notably, the East Region’s No. 9 seeded FAU Owls would make a run all the way to the Final Four before falling to San Diego State 72-71.
