USC women’s basketball has favorable path at 2024 NCAA Tournament

USC should be able to get by Kansas. If it does, it would face Virginia Tech or Baylor, most likely, in the Sweet 16. Then Ohio State or UConn might loom in the Elite Eight. USC beat Ohio State earlier this season. UConn is banged up and shorthanded. The Trojans have a path to the Final Four, and they should be able to take advantage of it. In a possible Final Four meeting with either Iowa or LSU, though, JuJu Watkins being a freshman compared to the veteran stars on the other side might limit what USC does. That said, if USC gets to the Final Four and loses in the national semifinals, it would still be a spectacularly successful season for the Trojans, with the No. 1 recruiting class coming in next season. If you ask USC fans right now if they would accept a Final Four result which stops short of the national championship game, most of them would probably take it.
