Detroit Pistons’ guard Evan Fournier has found a familiar coaching style in Monty Williams, drawing parallels between Williams and European basketball coaches.
Since joining the Pistons from the New York Knicks, Fournier has been impressed by Williams’ coaching approach, reminiscent of his experiences in European basketball.
“He’s one of the best teachers I’ve had since I’ve been a pro. He reminds me of the coaches in Europe. Usually in the NBA you install a system and players just play, you don’t have plays.
