The struggles for the Philadelphia 76ers continued on Wednesday night when they fell to the Golden State Warriors 127-104 on a night where they were once again short-handed. Along with Joel Embiid on the sidelines, the Sixers were missing De’Anthony Melton, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, Danuel House Jr., and Marcus Morris Sr. That makes for an uphill battle.
The Sixers got off to a solid start as they went up 27-17 in the first half, but then things slipped away from them and the Warriors raced out to a 30-point lead. Led by Andrew Wiggins with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Golden State put the Sixers to bed in the third quarter.
Rookie Ricky Council IV had 17 points in garbage time to lead Philadelphia. Tobias Harris had 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists while Tyrese Maxey added 12 points. Jaden Springer added eight points, four rebounds, and two steals, KJ Martin added 15 off the bench, Patrick Beverley had 13 and five assists, and Paul Reed had six and eight rebounds. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 11 points.
NBA Twitter reacted to the continued struggles for the Sixers:
The Sixers have lost 7 of 8. They got down by 30 points. They were outscored 43 to 23 by the Warriors in the third-quarter. Things are getting ugly without the MVP and other players.

Injuries take out a few teams every year.
This year, it was the Grizzlies and Sixers.

If Springer can hold Curry to 0 points, 0 assists, and 2 turnovers 20 minutes into the game…. he is absolutely an NBA player.
To face guard a player the entire game takes elite conditioning and an insane amount of mental discipline. pic.twitter.com/imCvMDSmtM

Getting the highest draft pick possible should be the Sixers main priority at this point.
It stinks but that’s the reality.
