COUGARS READY FOR NEXT BOEING APPLE CUP MATCHUP

Washington State women’s basketball continues its Pac-12 schedule on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 12 p.m. PT at Washington in the Boeing Apple Cup.

The Cougars return home for their first game at Beasley Coliseum since Dec. 17 to host Arizona State on Friday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. PT, before then hosting Arizona on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 12 p.m. PT.

ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE

WSU Women’s Basketball is 11-5 on the year after starting Pac-12 play 0-3 for the second straight season. The Cougars had five players score in double figures five times this season, and have had 3+ in double figures in eight straight games. WSU has eight players returned from last year’s Pac-12 Conference Tournament Championship team including three starters who won a program-record 23 games (23-11, 9-9 Pac-12) and were ranked as high as No. 22 in the AP Poll after capturing the program’s first Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Championship to clinch their third-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Kamie Ethridge, the 2022-23 National Coach of the Year by The Athletic, returns three All-Pac-12 players led by All-America guard Charlisse Leger-Walker.

COUGS IN THE RANKINGS

The Cougs look to climb back into the rankings after having been ranked as high as number 21 this season. Washington State was voted to the Preseason Associated Press Top-25 Poll for the first time in program history, appearing at No. 24 in the preseason poll. WSU was picked to finish fifth by the Pac-12 Conference coaches and media, matching the best preseason pick in program history after also being picked fifth ahead of the 1991-92 season.

SERIES HISTORY

In 105 meetings all-time between these two programs, Washington holds a 76-29 advantage overall, and a 38-17 advantage in games played in Seattle.
