Lawson Adds Transfer Taina Mair to Roster for 2023-24 Season

DURHAM – Duke women’s basketball head coach Kara Lawson announced the addition of an undergraduate transfer to the program, as rising sophomore Taina Mair has signed a scholarship agreement to attend Duke and play for the Blue Devils in 2023-24.

“We are thrilled to welcome Taina into The Sisterhood,” said Lawson. “She is a complete player and an elite competitor. Her passion to keep improving is evident when you watch her play. She will add to our team on both ends. We expect her to contribute in a major way.”

Mair is a 5-9 guard from Boston, Mass., who comes to Duke after playing her freshman season at Boston College. The All-ACC Freshman Team honoree played and started in all 33 games for the Eagles, averaging 11.1 points, 6.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds in a team-high 36.6 minutes per game.

“I’m super excited to be a part of the Duke family,” said Mair. “Duke is a great university both academically and athletically, which allows student-athletes to thrive on and off the court. I can’t wait to get on campus and get to work!”
