Osborne Named UCLA Student-Athlete of Week, presented by Ready

Senior guard Charisma Osborne of the women’s basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of March 20-27.

Osborne scored a career-high 36 points against No. 5-seed Oklahoma on Monday, March 20, helping UCLA earn a second-round win in the NCAA Tournament (advancing to the Sweet 16). Her 36-point total that night marked the most points by any UCLA player in a postseason game in program history. She finished with eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in the victory over Oklahoma.

Osborne tallied 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists in the Bruins’ loss to No. 1-seeded South Carolina last Saturday. With her final pair of free throws, she moved into ninth place on UCLA’s all-time scoring list with 1,798 career points, passing Anita Ortega (1,751), Monique Billings (1,761) and Nikki Blue (1,797).

This marks Osborne’s first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and the sixth in her career.
