The Philadelphia 76ers entered Gianbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday night looking to continue their winning ways. They found out shortly before the game that they would have to grind out a win over the Indiana Pacers while missing James Harden and PJ Tucker who are obviously important to their success.
The Sixers were able to do so easily as they knocked off the Pacers 141-121 and they led by as many as 24. Joel Embiid also made history on the night as he had 31 points on 10-for-15 shooting, seven rebounds, and seven assists. It was the ninth straight game Embiid has scored 30+ points which is a new franchise record. He broke a tie with Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain in franchise history.
Along with Embiid making history, the Sixers also received 31 points and seven assists from Tyrese Maxey. Tobias Harris added 24 points and five rebounds, De’Anthony Melton had 14 points, five rebounds, five assists, and six steals, and Georges Niang and Paul Reed had 10 points each.
NBA Twitter reacted to Embiid’s big night in another Sixers win:
Joel Embiid is the first player in Sixers history to drop 30+ points in 9 straight games.

Joel Embiid is up to 30 points, 7 boards, and 7 assists with a full quarter to go.
He’s shooting 62% (34-for-55) on midrange jumpers between 14 feet and the 3p arc since the all-star break.
That ranks in the 100th percentile of NBA bigs.

.@sixers @JoelEmbiid has his 30th straight game w/ at least 20 pts, dating back to Jan. 2. It’s the longest such streak of his career.
He’s 1 of 3 players w/ a 30+ game streak this season & joins Barkley/Chamberlain/@alleniverson as the only 76ers ever to do so.
