WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After learning its NCAA destination on Sunday evening, the East Region’s No. 1-seed Purdue men’s basketball team has started preparations for Friday’s first-round contest against the winner of the First Four contest between No. 16 seeds Fairleigh Dickinson and Texas Southern.

The Boilermakers and 16th-seeded FDU or Texas Southern will battle at 6:50 p.m. ET, at the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets – Nationwide Arena. It will be the first game of the first session, as Florida Atlantic and Memphis will square off a half-hour after the conclusion of game one with the two winners advancing to Sunday’s Round of 32 contest. Times and television designations will be announced late Friday night.
The Boilermakers took the day off from practice on Monday after winning the Big Ten Tournament title game against Penn State. The Boilermakers resumed activity with media obligations on Tuesday afternoon, followed by a brief practice.
The Boilermakers will practice on Wednesday, before departing for Columbus on Wednesday afternoon.
THURSDAY PRACTICE INFORMATION: Open to media and general public at Nationwide Arena (2 to 2:40 p.m. ET)
• FAN HEADQUARTERS: Boston’s Restaurant and Sports Bar (191 Nationwide Blvd.; Columbus)
- The fan gathering will start two hours before tip (4:45 p.m. ET). Boston’s Restaurant is located just 300 feet from Nationwide Arena. Purdue fans are encouraged to attend before, during and after the Boilermakers’ first-round contest. Patrons are responsible for purchasing their own food and drink.
