The clock still has not struck midnight on the Penn State Nittany Lions as they continue to fight through the Big Ten tournament.
It took a total team effort from the male Nittany Lions but they were able to upset Northwestern in their home state for the second time this year. This win all but guarantees an NCAA tournament berth for the team and now their gritty work ethic will get to be on the big stage.
Between the big win and a questionable call at the end of the game, Twitter was buzzing throughout the game.

Penn State knew how important this game was and the team was getting the appropriate support they deserved. Coach Micah Shrewsberry and his squad had beaten Northwestern before and everyone knew that a win over them again in a neutral territory would be significant.

Penn State faced Indiana earlier in the year and they won by an astounding 19 points. That is a far cry from their recent games that have come down to the wire but keep in mind this cinderella story is still going and it will heading into day three on Saturday.

The crossover from events and stats from Penn State basketball to football has been rather hilarious. Between the NCAA tournament and Rose Bowl stats and now this it will be interesting to see what pops up next for both teams.

Penn State is now 2-2 in Overtime basketball games this year after defeating Northwestern on Friday. Their two losses came to Wisconsin and Clemson earlier in the year and their lone win came against…Northwestern earlier this year.
