Boswell Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference announced the final weekly award winners for the 2022-23 season on Monday and Arizona freshman guard Kylan Boswell was named the top freshman in the conference for the final week of the regular season.

In the two games last week at USC and No. 4 UCLA, Boswell averaged 14.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and shot 75% from the floor. He was 6 of 9 from the three-point line and came away with two steals on the week as well.

Against USC, he scored 14 points in 23 minutes off the bench, including a 2 of 3 effort from long distance. At UCLA, he played 24 minutes and tallied 14 points on 5 of 7 shooting and made a season-high four three-point field goals in the game. It marked the first time this season that Boswell scored double figures in back-to-back games.

With Boswell receiving this week’s award, it marks the ninth time since the freshman of the week award was instituted prior to the 2019-20 season that an Arizona player has won the award.

Overall, it is the fourth weekly award for an Arizona player this season, joining Azuolas Tubelis (twice) and Oumar Ballo, who received player of the week honors.
