Highlanders Make it Interesting, Fall in Long Beach

UC Santa Barbara

LONG BEACH, Calif. – UC Riverside made it interesting late, but fell 68-58 to Long Beach State on Wednesday night at the Walter Pyramid.

Jordan Webster put up her second 20-point game against the Beach this season, going for 24 points on 8-of-19 shooting with a perfect 6-for-6 clip from the free throw line while adding in five rebounds.

Both teams ended their respective outings cold from the floor, despite UC Riverside outscoring the Beach 20-9 in the fourth quarter in an attempt to erase a 30-point lead. Anna Blount tied a game high with eight rebounds, coming two shy of a double double after putting up 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting, a block and two steals.

RyAnne Walters continued dishing the basketball with five assists in Long Beach on Wednesday, now distributing 12 assists in her last two contests and five each in three of her last four games.

UC Riverside will stay on the road with a 4:00 p.m. contest on Saturday at UC Santa Barbara on ESPN+.
