Wisconsin takes down Michigan at home

MADISON, Wis. — Led by a career-high 23 points from Connor Essegian, the Wisconsin men’s basketball team earned a 64-59 win over Michigan at the Kohl Center on Tuesday night.

Essegian led the Badgers with a career-high 23 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the floor. The freshman guard scored 13 of his points in the second half alone.

Steven Crowl finished the night with a double-double, tallying 11 points and 12 rebounds, while also leading UW with six assists.

Max Klesmit also scored in double figures for the Badgers with 10 points, shooting 66.7 percent (2-for-3 3FG).

UW leading scorer, Chucky Hepburn, averaging 13.2 points, had just two on 1-of-9 shooting but had a critical steal with 16 seconds left and the lead at 61-57.

The Badgers outscored the Wolverines, 12-6, off the bench, including a season-high six points from Kamari McGee and five points from Jordan Davis.

Next up, Wisconsin continues its three-game homestand hosting Rutgers on Saturday. Tip is set for 11 a.m. on Big Ten Network.
