COLLEGE PARK, MD —  The eighth-ranked Maryland women’s basketball team (20-5, 11-3 B1G) ​will host Illinois (19-6, 9-5) Sunday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. Sunday’s game will be the Terrapins’ Senior Day game. Maryland is offering a family-four pack of four tickets and videoboard message for $32. Click here to purchase.

 

The Terrapins will honor seniors Faith Masonius, Abby Meyers, Diamond Miller and Elisa Pinzan before tip-off Sunday. 

Sunday’s game is also Abby Meyers Bobblehead Day. Fans can pick up a scratch-off at the entrances and 350 fans will win. 

The Terps-Illini matchup will be streamed on B1G+.

What’s UP

  • No. 8 Maryland will host Illinois in the Terrapins’ annual Senior Day game Sunday at the XFINITY Center. The Terps will honor Faith Masonius, Abby Meyers, Diamond Miller and Elisa Pinzan prior to the game.
  • Brenda Frese and the Terps are 28-3 in the month of February over the last 5 seasons. Frese and the Terrapins are 33-1 at home at the XFINITY Center in the month of February since 2014.
  • Diamond Miller is one of 25 top players in the country named to the Wooden Award Midseason Watch List. She was also named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Midseason Final 10 list, as well as the Wade Watch and Naismith Midseason lists.
  • Shyanne Sellers was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Final 10 list for the nation’s top small forward.
  • The Terrapins have the second-toughest schedule in the country this season, according to the Massey Ratings. The Terrapins are 5-3 vs. ranked teams this season with three wins over top 10 teams.
  • Maryland currently has five 1,000 point scorers (Miller – 1,500; Meyers – 1,299; Briggs – 1,126; Alexander – 1,049; Elisa Pinzan – 1,009).
  • Maryland women’s basketball is in its 52nd season and owns a record of 1,098-448 (.710). The Terrapins are No. 11 all-time in NCAA Division I history in winning percentage and No. 9 in all-time victories.
  • Senior Diamond Miller was named to the 10-player Preseason All-Big Ten Team for the second straight season to start the year. She is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree and was the 2021 Big Ten Tournament Co-MOP.
