Tre White, Kobe Johnson Score Career Highs As USC Men's Basketball Beats Washington, 80-74

LOS ANGELES — Tre White and Kobe Johnson each recorded career highs in points with 22 and 21, respectively, as USC men’s basketball won its 12th straight game at Galen Center with a 80-74 victory against Washington on Saturday.

The win gave USC head coach Andy Enfied his 200th career win. Enfield, who is in his 10th season with the Trojans, ranks fourth on USC’s all-time wins list, trailing only Sam Barry (260), Forrest Twogood (251) and Bob Boyd (216).

The Trojans (17-6, 9-3 Pac-12) have won six of their last seven games and remain third in the conference standings. USC now owns a seven-game winning streak over the Huskies (13-12, 5-9 Pac-12).

White shot 10-of-16 from the field and recorded eight rebounds and four assists. Johnson was 5-of-7 from the field while dishing five assists, nabbing four steals and grabbing three rebounds.

Boogie Ellis, who has scored in double digits in his last 13 games, finished with 14 points. Drew Peterson had a near triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

It was a scrappy win for the Trojans, as neither team shot better than 45 percent from the field. USC shot 18-of-21 from the free-throw line and outrebounded Washington 35-2 despite missing 6’11 forward Joshua Morgan due to injury. The Trojans were also without injured guard Reese Dixon-Waters.

With the Trojans trailing by two with 3:55 remaining, Ellis made a layup that tied up the game. After USC got a stop, Johnson made a fastbreak 3-pointer to give the Trojans the lead. Johnson drew a charge that led to White’s tip-in bucket.

Noah Williams made two free throws for Washington, but Johnson made another 3-pointer and Ellis drove the paint for a layup that gave USC a manageable edge until the final buzzer.

The Trojans led 34-27 at halftime thanks to a 15-2 run sparked by White, but the Huskies quickly erased the advantage with a 10-0 run at the start of the second period.
