Colorado’s Rick George featured in ranking of top college ADs

The Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team did not make the NCAA Tournament last season. Instead, they earned a trip to the NIT and lost in the first round to St. Bonaventure.

The football team then went 1-11, fired Karl Dorrell and flip-flopped between quarterbacks in arguably the worst season in the history of the program.

However, after all of that, Colorado athletic director Rick George is hitting home runs at the moment.

College sports commentator Big Game Boomer compiled a list of the top 50 ADs and George landed at 13, right in front of USC’s Mike Bohn, Colorado’s previous AD.

How is George this high? Well, hiring Deion Sanders just over a month ago likely shot him way up the list.

In a matter of a month, Coach Prime has already retooled this roster at a rapid pace and the Buffs are definitely going to be worth watching next season on the gridiron.

After George didn’t have much success with Dorell, Sanders is one heck of a hire.

Oklahoma, LSU, Tennessee, Ohio State and Notre Dame are the top five (in that order). Other Pac-12 schools to make the list were Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford and UCLA.
