Rockets at Clippers (Jan. 15): Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

With nine straight losses and 14 in 15 games, things aren’t going well for the young Houston Rockets (10-32). If there’s any consolation, though, it’s that things aren’t much better for their next opponent.

The Los Angeles Clippers (22-22) enter Sunday’s matchup with seven losses in eight games, and they’re not fully healthy, either, given soft tissue injuries for Paul George and Luke Kennard and the potential of Marcus Morris Sr. and John Wall being unavailable, as well.

If you’re looking to do last-minute betting research for Sunday’s Rockets-Clippers matinee, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM.

The game starts at 2 p.m. Central and can be seen via AT&T SportsNet Southwest (in Houston markets) or on NBA League Pass.

Advice and prediction

One option to turn things around for the Rockets could be greater usage for Alperen Sengun, which may be necessary in the aftermath of Porter’s foot injury. Sengun posted his first triple-double in one of Houston’s two games in Sacramento, becoming the youngest player in Rockets history and the youngest center in NBA history to do so.

Even so, it’s hard to have much confidence in Houston at the moment. In their current nine-game skid, only two games have been decided by single digits, and none by less than five points. They’re becoming less competitive by the game and are facing a Kawhi Leonard-led Clippers squad that is at home and incentivized to stop the bleeding as they pursue a spot in the 2023 Western Conference playoffs.

Prediction: Clippers 118, Rockets 108
