Dominate Ducks Defeat Utes – University of Oregon Athletics

SALT LAKE CITY β€” A total team effort in Salt Lake City pushed Oregon over Utah, 70-60 on Saturday.

Four Ducks finished in double-digits, led by a double-double form N’Faly Dante. Oregon took the lead early and led the rest of the way, holding Utah to 36 percent shooting on the night.

How It Happened: Oregon started strong on both ends in Salt Lake City, leading by as many as 14 points in the first half. The Ducks shot 42.9 percent from the field, while holding Utah to 26.7 percent and 9.1 percent from three-point range. N’Faly Dante scored nine points in the half and grabbed nine rebounds to pace Oregon. Kel’el Ware knocked down two three-pointers to swing the momentum in favor of Oregon. The Utes cut the lead to double digits with a 5-0 run to make it a 34-27 game at the half.

Β Utah closed to within four points early in the second half, before the Ducks got back in control. Dante scored eight points in the second half, including four free throws. Richardson managed the game for Oregon and had seven points in the half, hitting clutch shots for the Ducks. Down the stretch, the Utes created turnovers and hit big shots to close to within four points. After an Oregon timeout, Quincy Guerrier hit a clutch corner three to push the lead to seven, a lead Oregon would not relinquish.
