Warriors’ James Wiseman (ankle) out vs. Blazers

Warriors’ James Wiseman (ankle) out vs. Blazers

With Steph Curry (shoulder), Andrew Wiggins (adductor/illness) and JaMychal Green (leg infection) already ruled out, the Golden State Warriors had another addition to the injury report for Friday’s contest against the Portland Trail Blazers.

James Wiseman has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Blazers due to a left ankle sprain. According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. “could find a small role” with Wiseman and three other players out against Portland.

Since being recalled from the G League, the former No. 2 overall pick has played in seven consecutive games for the Warriors. During that span, Wiseman is averaging 7.4 points on 64.7% shooting from the field with 3.6 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per game.

Without Wiseman and Green, the Warriors will have a thin frontcourt against the Blazers. Veterans Draymond Green and Kevon Looney will be joined by Jonathan Kuminga, Anthony Lamb and Baldwin Jr.

The Warriors are slated to host the Trail Blazers on Friday night at Chase Center at 7 p.m. PT.
