Jon Wilner sees Colorado’s KJ Simpson becoming first-team All-Pac-12

Through Colorado’s first 13 games, KJ Simpson has been a definite standout for the Buffs men’s basketball team. His averages of 17.2 points, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game are all team-high numbers with nonconference play now complete.

Simpson, who earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors last season, has quickly become one of the conference’s top point guards thanks to his elite scoring abilities and improved effort on defense.

Pac-12 analyst Jon Wilner released his all-conference predictions on Tuesday and Colorado’s sophomore guard was a first-team selection along with UCLA’s Jaimie Jaquez Jr., Arizona’s Azuolas Tubelis, Utah’s Branden Carlson and USC’s Boogie Ellis.

If Simpson can cut down on his team-leading 2.4 turnovers per game, there’s a solid chance that Wilner’s prediction will come true.
