THIS WEEK         

USC puts its undefeated record up against two tough foes this week, with the first test coming in a Pac-12 opener against crosstown rival UCLA. The Trojans (9-0) host the No. 10 Bruins (9-1) at 7 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 15) at Galen Center as USC looks to snap a six-game skid against UCLA and stay undefeated on the year. From there, the Trojans head to Dallas, Texas, for action at the Pac-12 Coast-to-Coast Challenge, which pits USC against Texas at 2:30 p.m. CT on Sunday (Dec. 18) at American Airlines Arena.

FOLLOW ALONG        

Thursday’s Pac-12 opener will air on Pac-12 Los Angeles with Mary Murphy and Tracy Warren on the call. USC’s Sunday’s clash with Texas airs on ESPN2 with Debbie Antonelli and Pam Ward on that call. 

IN THE POLLS        

USC was receiving votes in the preseason USA Today poll. In the latest round of national rankings, USC is receiving votes in the USA Today Poll (released Dec. 13). USC entered this week rated 33 in the NET rankings.

USC IN THE NATION        

USC entered the week ranked as the No. 2 team in the nation in scoring defense, having allowed just 47.9 points per game through its 9-0 start to the season. The Trojans also are top-10 in five other categories:  3-point percentage defense (5th — 23.0), assists per game (9th — 19.1 apg), field goal percentage defense (9th ‚ 32.7%), blocks per game (10th – 5.8 bpg) and scoring margin (10th — 26.1). USC also ranks 12th in the land with 12.8 steals per game.

TROJANS IN THE NATION        

Individually, USC enters the week with a few players making their mark on the national stat sheets. With 3.29 blocks per game, Rayah Marshall ranks No. 4 in the nation. Kayla Williams, meanwhile, sits at No. 11 in the land with an assist/turnover ratio of 3.0, and Kadi Sissoko’s field goal…
