Blue Devils Up to No. 10 in NET Rankings

DURHAM – After wrapping non-conference play with a 71-48 win against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, the Duke women’s basketball team is up to No. 10 in the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) Rankings.

Duke is one of six ACC teams rated in the top 25 of the NET and one of four teams in the top 10. The other five teams include No. 7 NC State, No. 8 Virginia Tech, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 16 North Carolina and No. 25 Virginia.

The NET is the contemporary sorting tool used to measure a team’s quality and help evaluate team resumes for selection and seeding in the NCAA tournament. The NET ranking is determined by who you played, where you played, how efficiently you played and the result of the game.

Duke concluded non-conference action with a 10-1 record, going undefeated at home (5-0) and in true road contests (4-0) while being 1-1 in neutral site games. Duke’s lone loss came to UConn, which checks in at No. 5 in the NET.

The Blue Devils have won each of their games by an average of 28.6 points and have held each of their opponents below their season scoring average and seven of them to 50 points or less. Duke has held its foes to 48.5 points per game and 31.9 percent shooting from the floor, marks that currently rank fourth and fifth in the NCAA, respectively.
