Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga hits 24 pts off bench vs. Jazz

The Golden State Warriors’ shocking loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night was defined in the final seconds on Wednesday night. A late sequence saw the Warriors fumble away a four-point lead in the final seconds on the way to falling to the Jazz 124-123 in stunning fashion.

Golden State’s late collapse overshadowed an impressive performance off the bench from Jonathan Kuminga.

The sophomore forward helped lead a comeback effort against the Jazz, scoring a season-high 24 points on an efficient 10-of-13 shooting from the field. 

Kuminga filled the boxscore with five boards, four assists, a steal and block with only one turnover in 30 minutes against the Jazz. Kuminga also showed off his range, drilling one 3-pointer on three attempts from deep.

Kuminga scored 12 of his points in the fourth quarter on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor against the Jazz.

Kuminga is now averaging 6.5 points on 47.4% shooting from the field with three rebounds and an assist in 16.5 minutes per game. Kuminga will have the chance to build off his impressive performance on Saturday in a primetime rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics at San Francisco’s Chase Center.
