THE OPENING TIP
•  Pitt welcomes FDU to the Petersen Events Center Tuesday, Nov. 22. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. with Dave Leno and Tim Welsh calling the game for the ACC Network.
•  The Panthers are 1-0 all-time against FDU and are 36-2 overall against teams currently in the Northeast Conference.

•  Tuesday’s game marks Pitt’s second game in three days and the fourth of six games for the Panthers in a 13-day span. Pitt also hosts William & Mary Nov. 25 before concluding the stretch with a road game at Northwestern (Nov. 28).
•  The Panthers have made 10 or more three-point field goals in two of their three games at the Petersen Events Center this season. Blake Hinson (8) and Greg Elliott (7) have combined for 15 made threes at the Pete.
•  Blake Hinson has scored 15 or more points in three of the first five games over the season, including a pair of 20+ point efforts. He leads the Panthers and ranks 12th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring at 16.8 points per game.
•  Jamarius Burton is averaging 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, while shooting 52.6 percent (20-of-38) from the field. He the only ACC player averaging better than 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Burton missed Sunday’s win over Alabama State due to knee inflammation.
•  Jorge Diaz Graham is averaging 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game over the past two contests. He is 5-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range, and 6-of-9 from the foul line in that span.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
• Pitt’s roster features five players who have averaged double figures for a season at the NCAA Division I level. Nelly Cummings (3x), Nike Sibande (3x), Jamarius Burton (2x), John Hugley IV (1x) and Blake Hinson (1x) have combined for 10 double-figure scoring seasons. Hinson (16.8 ppg.) and Burton (13.5 ppg.) are averaging 10 or more points through the first five games, while John Hugley IV (9.5 ppg.) and Greg Elliott (9.0 ppg.) are also near that mark.
