If the Oklahoma City Thunder were ever going to have a performance like the one they had against the New York Knicks, the timing was perfect.
Being the only live NBA game on, backcourt duo Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey showed out on the bright stage of Madison Square Garden.
Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 37 points while Giddey collected a 24-point triple-double in a 145-135 win over the Knicks.
Despite a slate of NFL games going on, the small-market Thunder duo received plenty of buzz on Twitter with their performance. Let’s take a look at some of the best tweets from the Thunder’s win.

Quite the stat from Thunder PR:
Two players have recorded triple-doubles in their first two games at Madison Square Garden.
Wilt Chamberlain … and Josh Giddey.

The Thunder really are one of the most well-coached teams in the league

You should be higher on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Josh Giddey getting interviewed with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander by Nick Gallo postgame “hopefully we can be a helluva backcourt for a long time.”

SGA the best player on the floor, again, by a considerable margin. How many times have we said this, this season?

SGA’s jump and the bench depth make tanking more difficult than it’s ever been. Sit Moose/Kenrich? Won’t matter. Play the end of the bench? Won’t matter. SGA on an All-Star campaign and I suspect they’ll have their best record of the last 3 seasons by the time ASG is here.
