RALEIGH – Playing in its sole exhibition tuneup of the 2022-23 preseason, 10th-ranked NC State women’s basketball beat visiting UNC Pembroke by an 81-22 score on Thursday night.

All 10 available players for the Wolfpack saw time on the court, and each one of those women also found the scoring column in the team’s victory. Three members of the team hit double figures in scoring as Jada Boyd (15 points), Diamond Johnson (13 points) and Jakia Brown-Turner (12 points) led the way for NC State. Madison Hayes and Camille Hobby, who both started the game, finished with eight and nine points, respectively.

Hobby and Aziaha James were the team leaders on the boards with 10 rebounds apiece. Saniya Rivers (four points, five rebounds, three assists) and River Baldwin (six points, four rebounds) played in front of Wolfpack Nation for the first time.

NC State officially opens its 2022-23 campaign on Monday, Nov. 7 as it hosts Quinnipiac. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Bobcats is scheduled for 5 p.m., and the matchup will be aired live on ACCNX.
