Russell Westbrook’s top 10 games of the 2021-22 season: No. 9

Late in the season, the Los Angeles Lakers’ chances of reaching the play-in tournament were hanging by a thread, but it looked like Russell Westbrook was perhaps on the verge of turning things around.

After a season defined by turnovers, badly missed perimeter shots and defensive inattention, he hit a game-tying 3-pointer to force overtime and propel L.A. to a win over the Toronto Raptors on March 18.

The next night, the team traveled down to Washington, D.C. and looked to build some momentum versus the Washington Wizards.

Westbrook went an incredible 10-of-15 from the field en route to 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

The Lakers got off to a strong start, going up by as 16 points in the first quarter, and they still held a solid lead in the third quarter.

But they lost steam in the final frame, as they were outscored 34-20, leading to a 127-119 loss.

At least this was one loss that couldn’t be blamed on Westbrook.
