2025 PG says he’s a fan of Tar Heels

Hubert Davis watches five-star on Sunday

Hubert Davis and his staff are starting to build their recruiting boards for future classes, hoping to land some big talent for the UNC basketball program. While UNC has their eyes on the 2024 class, the focus will begin to shift to the 2025 class as well.

One prospect that has started to gain attention from programs is point guard Mikel Brown Jr.

The 5-foot-11, 140-pound guard has a total of five offers in his recruitment so far, with Auburn, Baylor, Coastal Carolina, Florida, and Presbyterian. But could the Tar Heels get involved sooner or later? Brown Jr. offered up an interesting quote in a recent interview with Travis Branham about how he is a big UNC fan:

Things are just getting started on the recruiting front for Brown and he will remain open to all options but there are two schools he is a current fan of.

“I am a North Carolina fan so I love North Carolina and also UCLA but I’m open to any opportunity,” said Brown.

Brown has yet to earn an offer from UNC in his recruitment but hearing this quote, it appears as if eventually he wants to land one.

With Brown being a 2025 prospect, there is a lot of time for the Tar Heels to get involved and this is a recruit we will keep an eye on.
