Knicks forward Julius Randle may not be playing a pivotal game against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night, but he’s going to be losing some money.

The NBA announced Tuesday that Randle was fined $40,000 for what the league calls “hostile language toward a game official” during the team’s loss to the Utah Jazz on Sunday. The fine was announced by NBA president of league operations, Byron Spruell.

In a pregame news conference, coach Tom Thibodeau was asked about Randle — prior to the announcement of the fine — and whether the forward’s frustration has seeped into other areas and if that’s a concern for the team.
