BROOKLYN, N.Y. – For the league-leading seventh time this season, LIU women’s basketball freshman Emaia O’Brien was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
O’Brien pushed her league-best NEC Rookie of the Week award total to seven after receiving the honor for the third time in as many weeks. A freshman guard, she recorded back-to-back 10 point games for LIU, which went 1-1 on the week with a win at Merrimack and a defeat at NEC regular-season champion FDU. O’Brien has netted double figures in each of per past five outings.
Up next, O’Brien and the Sharks cap the regular season with one final game at Bryant, Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m.
