Nets' Kevin Durant back on court and getting closer to return

MIAMI — For Nets fans starved for good news, here’s a kernel: Kevin Durant has been back on the court for a week, and is progressing towards a return.

“He’s on the court shooting, working through things, looking really good. There’s still a period of time he’s got to go through to get over the line, but really positive,” Steve Nash said of Durant, who has not played since he sprained his left MCL on Jan. 15.

Durant missed a 14th straight game Saturday. The Nets came into their game against the Heat just 2-11 since he went down and had lost 10 straight to fall from first in the Eastern Conference to eighth.

“He’s been on the court for a week or so,” Nash said before the Nets’ 115-111 loss to the Heat. “Now, some of it is starting with spot shots, working his way up to more dynamic movement. But that’s the part of the rehab he’s in and he’s doing great.”
