Nets midseason grades for 2021-22 NBA season

As we reach the midway point of the season, it’s time to take stock and grade the performances of the individual Nets.

The following report card takes into account roles and expectations entering the season.

It does not include players who have appeared in fewer than 20 games…

Kevin Durant: A+

The best player on the Nets, and arguably in the league.

What critique is there to be found on 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game on 52-37-89 shooting splits? Perhaps there could be a critique if the Nets weren’t winning, but KD’s dominance has kept his team atop the East.

James Harden: C+

Durant’s co-star, on the other hand, is still working his way back into peak form. Some days he looks like the Harden of Houston, others a high-usage, low-efficiency, defense-allergic $40 million hole in the lineup.

Harden deserved a D for his first 20 games and a B+ for his recent tear, so splitting the difference seemed appropriate….
