Nets' Kevin Durant leading All-Star Game vote-getter in Eastern Conference

You can basically write down in Sharpie than Kevin Durant will be named an NBA All-Star for the 10th time in his career.

As of Thursday afternoon, Durant led all Eastern Conference players in All-Star votes — he is the only player in the East with over 4 million votes.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry and the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James both surpassed that mark in the West.

Durant currently leads the NBA with 29.7 points per game, his highest since he led the league with 32.0 points per contest in his MVP 2013-14 season. His 5.9 assists are the second-most of his career, and his 7.5 rebounds are the sixth-most.

Durant obviously was not named an All-Star in 2019-20, as he missed the entire year recovering from a torn Achilles, but aside from that, the last time Durant was not named an All-Star was the 2008-09 season, where he averaged 25.3 points per game.
