Raiders Unable To Take Advantage Of Strong First Half

DUBUQUE, Iowa – MSOE women’s basketball continued their tough non-conference schedule on Saturday when they traveled just over the Wisconsin border to take on the University of Dubuque in Iowa. The Raiders put together a good first half but were unable to close out in the second during a 13-point loss to the Spartans.

FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 49
Dubuque – 62

HOW IT HAPPENED

MSOE (3-5, 2-2 NACC) came out of the gate firing on all cylinders and outscored Dubuque (7-3, 2-2 ARC) 18-10 in the opening quarter off of 7-14 shooting from the field.
The Spartans responded in the second by scoring 20 points, but it was the Raiders that still had the one-point advantage heading into the second half.
Unfortunately, the Red & White offensive output dried up in the last two quarters. MSOE made just six field goals and were outscored 32-18 as they dropped their fourth contest in a row, this time by the final score of 62-49.
