St. Paul, Minn. – Macalester College junior, Emma LaFrenz (Edina, Minn./Edina), was selected as the MIAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week, announced by the league today. LaFrenz came up big for the Scots in their 63-52 win over Crown last Thursday.
LaFrenz, a 6-2 forward, put up a double-double against Crown, with 23 points and 24 rebounds. She also registered two blocks, two steals, and two assists in the game. She shot 5-for-7 on free throws and 9-for-19 from the field. In the other two games the Scots played last week, LaFrenz made no less than nine rebounds.
In the MIAC, LaFrenz is currently ranked first in terms of rebounds, totaling 87 on the overall season (46 in MIAC play). She is averaging 12.4 rebounds per game and 8.6 points per game.
