As expected, Ohio State forward Brice Sensabaugh has entered his name into the NBA draft after a stellar freshman season.
The 6-foot, 6-inch Orlando, Florida, native made a pretty immediate splash onto the scene as Ohio State’s most dynamic player, and as one of the best freshmen in the country during the 2022-2023 season. He led Ohio State with 16.3 points per contest. He also averaged 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists, while shooting 48.2% from the field.
You know the drill by now. Though Sensabaugh is going through the draft process, he can retain his eligibility, test the waters, and then either decide to stay in the draft or come back to Ohio State based on the feedback he receives from the NBA types.
If Sensabaugh stays in the NBA draft, it will mark the second straight year a freshman at Ohio State has been a so-called “one-and-done” player. Malaki Branham followed a similar first-season arc in Columbus the season prior.
Despite the offensive numbers, there will no doubt be some critical feedback on Sensabaugh’s ability to defend and be a well-rounded player. There were also times last season when he vanished from games and you can bet the NBA would like to see more consistency.

Still, there appears to be a huge upside for Sensabaugh and it’ll likely come down to where those that provide the valuable feedback believe he will be drafted. If it’s a first-round grade, there’s probably little chance the budding star returns to Columbus.
